MELODIC MINOR SCALE MODES
Two modes of the Melodic Minor are super useful. The Super Locrian (The Altered Scale) is very commonly used and is super cool (also see my lesson on Altered Harmony). Modern Blues players should get involved with the Lydian Dominant too - very hip sound.
The rest are a bit meh to me really, I'm sure they're useful for people who make really complicated music but I never found them particularly useful sounds.

Jazz Minor Scale
This is the 'root' of the Melodic Minor Scale, you can think of it as a mode if it gets you hot, it's just the scale and modal thinking here doesn't make sense to me!
I don't use the Dorian b2 (also called Phrygian #6) much to be honest, but worth a look to be a complete-ist and maybe impress someone one day?
I don't find myself soloing over Maj7#5 chords much, but when I do - this is the tool for the job!
Otherwise known as a Mixolydian #11 this mode is super hip and commonly used by the modern blues players. This is one of the two common uses and great one to get down!
Not sure I ever used this - unless by accident. Maybe I'm just not cool enough? But worth making sure it makes sense and you understand how it all works .
The Locrian Mode is played over min7b5 chords but the b2 is always pretty dissonant. The Locrian♮2 mode takes care of that, though it's not super common.
